Most popular among French Canadians, petanque is quickly gaining dedicated followers here in the Rio Grande Valley. Hermel Pelletier and his wife, Reinalde, coordinate the game for the Golden Age Olympics, sponsored by the city of McAllen, which takes place every Spring right here at Pleasant Valley Resort. “It is a great game for all Canadians, and more and more Americans are playing” Pelletier said. We sure are!
